Your support requirements will be assessed on an individual basis. They will be based on your completed questionnaire and the initial assessment. They can consist of one or a blend of the modalities described below, and will vary in session numbers depending on what you are looking for support with.

Hands-On Work

We will look at ways to create more ease in your body, but also at understanding what the body is trying to tell you. If we just turn the symptom off we are not necessarily learning anything, and so something else could flare up or the symptom could just come back until we address the potential underlying causes. It’s like turning the warning light off on your car without looking at what triggered it to go off in the first place.

I use techniques including McTimoney, Network Spinal Analysis (NSA), trigger point releasing and stretching to help the body back into balance. These are exceedingly gentle but cause the nervous system, and so your body as a whole, to re-organise. 

These techniques will help to release stress, accumulated patterns of tension, restricted physical and emotional responses, improve breathing and create a more effectively functioning body. This can help improve your immune system, help prevent future injuries as well as help heal current ones. It can also help your body manage any underlying existing chronic or acute conditions. 

These techniques are very relaxing and non invasive. They do not include any clicking or cracking, but gentle touch and ‘taps’ in very specific locations. The muscle work may involve a little more pressure, but even this is still very gentle.

Human Design

“Human design was something new for me. The reading was interesting and designed to fit specific questions I wanted to think about in my life. Alana took care to address the areas I had asked about and took her time to explain the basics of human design. 

The reading raised interesting issues with plenty of practical  areas to work on for the future. It will be interesting to see where this goes!”

We are not all the same!  So what affects one person one way, will affect someone else in a totally different way. This is why health care advice is not a “one size fits all”.  We are individuals, and even though our core functionality may be very similar,  it’s about finding what works for you! 

So if you want to look at the problem from another perspective, we can look at your human design. This is a way of self-exploration, combining knowledge of astrology, I-Ching, Kabbalah and Vedic philosophy using the chakra system to create a chart that’s your genetic blueprint. Something specific just to you. 

It can give you information on all aspects of your life, and can be a great tool to help look at aspects of your personality, natural tendencies and energetic potential. It’s often referred to as the human design experiment, as it’s not about what’s right or wrong, but about learning more about how to create more flow, fulfilment and ease in your life. To help you recognise and embrace your true gifts and potential, identify areas of resistance, and new ways of approaching them. 

It’s also a great diagnostic tool for understanding why certain symptoms and challenges persist, and ways we may be able to work to improve flow in these areas. I can help you demystify your body graph, to find some more clarity and focus. 

Mentoring

Health care and wellness has been my passion for three decades. This has involved studying many different modalities with a view to understanding how to work with my own health challenges.

Anxiety, overwhelm, stress, IBS, eczema, adrenal fatigue and burnout had been persistent in my life since challenges in my early childhood, through teenage years and beyond. I have learned to look after myself, drawing on resources to manage stress and anxiety. Mentorship taps into these resources to support you.

The journey to healing can incorporate ways of learning to sit with the uncomfortable feelings and stories we have instead of locking them out. To access and heal the part of us that shut down during this time. Finding ways to heal that part of ourselves can free up energy and holding patterns that have been locked in our body for years.

I have first hand experience of many forms of meditation, breath work and counselling, and can draw on many resources to offer insightful prompts to help you move towards your desired end result.  I have also had many years experience regarding exercise advice, diet modifications/suggestions, stress management and general post care advice can be discussed if and when required.

Retreats

“The clear day with Alana was a very positive experience. After regular one to one body work sessions it was a good next step. The relaxed atmosphere meant there were opportunities to share discussions with other participants where this felt appropriate. After one Clear Day it definitely felt that there is more to explore.”

I offer regular Clear Day Retreats where I use an array of skills with small groups to create a more intensive experience.

Retreats not only help you feel rejuvenated, but can help you go deeper with introspective work like journaling, meditation, intuitive movement, alongside several Network entrainments to help clear old patterns and create the space and clarity to bring in the new. Some previous Network experience is helpful for these deep dives.
